You will just flip (pancakes) at how easy this heartfelt wedding shower or birthday gift is.
Lo has always been the chef in the relationship. When we lived together in NYC, she would whip up gourmet meals of sea bass a la Florentine or lobster Mac and Cheese. Liz, on other hand, once hurled a flaming ball of burnt popcorn out of their 33rd story apartment window in sheer panic after her nuking skills proved sub par. (This is an absolutely true story and hopefully no innocent pedestrians on 96th street were injured in the making of Liz’s snack.)
So for Liz’s birthday, Lolo created the most darling recipe book with instructions on how to make all of Liz’s favorites. Liz, in return, then made a book for Lolo.
A binder is the perfect way to store all your favorite recipes because the sheet protectors are water and mess proof. Plus it is just so gosh darn easy and cute.
You will need:
- A fabulous binder. (We recommend Vera Bradley, Target, or Hallmark.) Or you can cover your own with fabric.
- Large and small doilies
- Sheet protectors
- Modge Podge
- Cute paper if you’re typing the recipes
- Scrapbooking alphabet stickers or nice penmanship
Step One: Collect all your favorite family recipes and either type them up (we always love craft paper!) or just insert them into the page protectors. (Editor’s tip: Request family recipe’s from the bride or birthday girl’s clan for added sentimental value. For a wedding shower, ask all the guests to bring in their favorite recipe on the invite!)
Step Two: Use small doilies to create precious dividers. Label them and then laminate for extra durability.
Step Three: Label and Modge Podge the large doilies to the binder cover and category dividers.
Step Four: Tie and superglue a coordinating ribbon to the front cover for an extra-sweet touch.
